These things have changed:
1. Follow through on radio programs.
I think these were extremely effective pr tools, and letting them slide hurt our program, however, I also think that the assignment was very ambitious. To expect faculty to find funding, arrange for the recording and produce the whole program while teaching a full load was unrealistic.
2. Our committment to diversity. (I'm putting this on both this page and the "what did we miss page"
We lost a member of our faculty who held the polar opposite politcal view of most of the rest of us, and even though many things are going much smoother, this seems to be the opposite of our statement in section 4.1 which proposes that we need these viewpoints. I also know non-native students that believe they are held to a different standard that their native counterparts. Diversity is a touchy subject, but unless we get it right, we will lose good faculty and students and maybe even jeopardize our existence.
3. Supporting sudents who need refresher courses to get the skills up to the level needed to be successful in school.
We have tutoring available as well as classes and this is a big improvement that is visible throughout the campus.
I am seeing an increase in numbers of students and staff who use the library to track down elusive information. Usually this has been Web research.
